한국과 인도는 광복절이 8월 15일로 같습니다. (한국 1945.8.15 / 인도 1947.8.15)

이에 한국과 인도가 함께 광복절을 기념하는 뜻깊은 자리를 마련했습니다. (2007년 광복절 행사 보기)

Rang De Basanti(랑그데 바산띠)는 '노랗게 칠해라' 란 뜻으로 인도에서 노란색은 희생을 뜻하는 색입니다.

세상에 관심없는 젊은이들이 독립투사들을 다룬 다큐멘터리 영화에 참여하면서 현실에 대해서 깨우치는 영화로, 인도 영화의 거장 아미르칸(Aamir Khan)이 주연했습니다. [자세한 영화 설명 보기]

The relations between India and Korea are growing steadily. Cultural relations form an important element of our multifaceted relations with Republic of Korea.

Indo-Korean foundation has been organizing a number of activities to enhance the cultural contacts between India and the Republic of Korea to provide an exposure of Indian culture in its broad spectrum fro Korean people.

I am pleased to note that Indo-Korean Foundation is organizing a Cultural Night on the occation of 62nd anniversary of Independence of India on 15th August, 2009.

I wish Indo-Korean Foundation success.

사단법인 한인교류회 회장님 인사말

나마스까르 ~

친애하는 스칸드 따얄 인도 대사님을 비롯한 국내외의 귀빈 여러분, 함께 하신 여러분들, 뵙게 되어 반갑고 고맙습니다.

한국과 인도의 사회, 정치, 문화교류를 통해 두 나라의 상생 증진을 도모하는 저희 사단법인 한인교류회는 경기도와 인도 마하라쉬트라 주가 우호관계를 맺을 수 있도록 다리가 되었던 것을 2007년의 8월 14일, 수원에서 경기도 지사 및 인도 대사가 참석하여 광복절을 함께 기념하고 축하하는 행사를 기획하여 함께 했던 인도인들과 경기도민들의 큰 호응을 받았던 적이 있었습니다.

너무도 즐거웠던 자리였기에, 인도와 한국이 광복절이라는 커다란 기쁨을 같은 날에 기념하면서도, 공식적으로 함께 모여 ‘두 나라, 한 기쁨’을 기념하고 축하했던 적이 그때까지 단 한번도 없었다는 게 믿어지지 않았고, 그렇기에 안타까웠었습니다.

그러므로, 2007년의 경험을 통해 함께 나누는 즐거움을 만끽했던 인도 대사관 측에서 금년도에는 서울에서 합동으로 축하 공연을 갖자고 제안해왔을 때, 참으로 기쁘지 않을 수 없었습니다.

같은 기쁨을 한 날에 서로 다른 두 나라가 축하하고 기념하고 즐거워할 수 있으니, 인도와 한국은 환상적인 짝이 아닐 수 없습니다.

오랜 협의와 조정 끝에 드디어 체결을 목전에 두게 된 인도와 한국 간의 포괄적 경제 동반자 협정 CEPA는 금년 2009년을 기점으로 양국의 관계가 또 한번 폭발적으로 증진되는 기회를 갖게 되었다는 것을 의미합니다.

종교와 문화를 바탕 삼은 두 나라의 오랜 관계가 이 시대의 화두인 경제의 꽃을 도모할 수 있게 되었으니, 두 나라의 경제 협정이 상생을 바탕으로 순조롭게 진행되어, 미래 인류를 살찌우는 한 축이 되기를 간절히 바라며
하늘이 내린 환상적인 배필 인도와 한국이 상생의 관계를 증진할 수 있도록 저희 사단법인 한.인교류회는 지금껏처럼 앞으로도 최선으로 노력할 것입니다.

인도, 만세.. 대한한국, 만세… 인도와 한국의 상생이 한 축을 담당할 세계 평화를 위해, 만세 ~~

Your Excellency, the Indian Ambassador to Korea, Mr. Skand Tayalji, distinguished guests and all our dear friends gathered here, it gives us great pleasure to welcome you to our little gathering to jointly celebrate the Independence Day of India and Korea.

It has always been the constant aim of the Indo-Korean Foundation to develop, strengthen and deepen the bonds between India and Korea through social, political and cultural interactions. It was with this purpose in mind that we had first organized a joint celebration of the Independence Day of our two nations that falls on the same day, in August 14, 2007.

That was also the year we had played a part in establishing an MOU between the Gyeong Gi Do and Maharashtra aimed at establishing deeper ties between the two cities. It had been our great honor to host the Independence Day function then in the august presence of the Governor of Gyeong Gi Do and the Indian Ambassador to Korea and a large and appreciative audience.

Our efforts were met with great appreciation and such an enthusiastic response from all quarters that we clearly came to understand that this common Independence Day represents the idea of ‘Two Nations, One Shared Joy’.

We, at the Indo Korean Foundation, were overjoyed when we were approached again by the Indian Embassy in Korea this year, with the offer to organise and host another function to celebrate our common Independence Days and resolved to make it an even bigger celebration that we had succeeded in doing the previous time around.

India and Korea are poised at a very significant time in our histories. We both have the potential to guide the world in various fields of activity and the coming together of our two nations can only signal a greater strength and opportunity for the leaders as well as the common citizens of both lands.

The signing of CEPA in 2009 marks a significant milestone in the journey to deepening the relationship between India and Korea. While it is presently focused primarily on the economic interaction between our nations, I have no doubt that its impact will seep into every other sphere of our lives too. Spiritually,

culturally and socially we share a common ground. I have great hope for the future. I believe that we are one soul separated by a geographic mass of land and our coming together and bonding will help usher in an era of peace and prosperity in our countries, the continent and ultimately the world.

The Indo Korean Foundation had resolved many years ago to commit itself to working in every manner possible, with the greatest effort and sincerity in realizing this goal. Today, once again we re affirm our commitment to this goal.

Bharat Mata ki Jai, Korea Mansae. May peace and prosperity visit each one of us and all across the world.
